Curling was included in the program of the Winter Games in 1924. The results of that competition were not considered official by the commitee until 2006. Curling was a sport at the 1932 games and then again after a long absence ifrom 1988 - 1992. The sport was finally added to the official program for the 1998 games.
Two events are contested, the men's and women's. A third, called mixed doubles, was considered for inclusion in the Winter Games but was rejected because the Olympic Programme Commission felt it had not developed enough.
