Published on: Oct 06 2015 by Leslie Lempka

The Major League Baseball playoff season of 2015 has begun, and the American and National team winners begin the journey to the final game of the season…The World Series.  It doesn’t get much better than this as America waits to see who will face who for the title of best team in baseball of 2015.

The World Series should be on everyone’s bucket list, as you just never know what historical moments will be witnessed.

Do you remember any of these?  Were you in the stadium when any of these took place?

Oct. 26, 1991:  In what is considered one of the greatest World Series ever played, Kirby Puckett wins Game 6 with a home run in the bottom of the 11th with 2 outs.  This win set up the Twins for eventual victory against the Atlanta Braves in game 7.

Oct. 23,1993: “Touch ’em all Joe, you’ll never hit a bigger home run in your life!”- Toronto Blue Jays broadcaster Tom Cheeks, after Carter delivered the 2nd ever walk-off home run to win a World series in history, against the Philadelphia Phillies.

November 4, 2001:  Arizona Diamondback’s Luis Gonzalez is up at bat, bottom of the 9th of game 7.  Pitching is the greatest closer of all time, NYY’s Marino Rivera.  Bases loaded, and the score is tied 2-2, and Gonzalez hits one into shallow centerfield for the win. The D’Backs win stopped the Yanks 3 game World Series winning streak.
