Want Seats In The Shade?

The #1 request we get for day session tickets at the Australian Open are seats in the shade. The January heat in Melbourne can be brutal, especially if you must sit for hours in the afternoon sun. In Melbourne during the month of January, the sun will set around 8:30-8:45 pm. This means even the first part of the even sessions will have sun on the seats along the sides. To beat the heat, we can offer you cushioned lower level seats located in first 15 rows of sections 8-12 behind the baseline. These seats are very hard to find and offer amazing views of the action. Seats include access into the Atrium to purchase food and drinks.

The Australian Open Overview

If the Australian Open is not on your bucket list it deserves to be. As a tennis fanatic, there's something to love about each of the Grand Slams but what makes the Australian Open so special is the friendly atmosphere of Melbourne, the hospitality of the Australian people and the excitement surrounding being present at the first Grand Slam of the Year. We suggest including a side trip to visit the Gold Coast, Sydney and if you have time a stop over in New Zealand. At eSeats.com we are passionate about tennis and have been helping clients from around the world attend the Australian Open since 2001. Our team who will be working with you have attended the Australian Open ourselves and have hundreds of clients secure tickets over the years to attend the Australian Open. The Aussie Open is played in mid January in Melbourne Park which is a city park located just minutes by foot or water taxi from the center of town. Water taxis are a fun way to reach the tennis center and can be picked up along the famous Southbank Promenade. I've traveled many times to the Australian Open and have personally assisted dozens of tennis fans secure their tickets to the Australian Open. This overview of the seating options will give you the right knowledge you need to make the best choice when purchasing your Australian Open tickets.

The day session begin at 11:00 am at Rod Laver Arena. Three matches are scheduled during the day sessions. Night session begins at 7:00 pm and will feature two matches. Like all the major Grand Slam and mini slams aka BNP Paribas Open and Miami Open there is a 164 player draw and daily order of play is announced the eve of the next day's round of tennis. Tickets are delivered via email in most cases except for the CAT 1 and CAT 2 corporate tickets which we are still getting as hard traditional tickets which may also be changing soon. Most of the CAT 1 and 2 tickets get released about 2-3 weeks before the start of the tournament otherwise we should be able to email you the other seats about 1 month prior or sooner.

Grounds passes during the first round are a good option if you'd like to keep to a small budget but we only carry these for the US Open and the French Open. For the Australian Open, I suggest going with some inexpensive upper level seats in the Rod Laver Arena if you plan is to simply wonder the outside courts. This way if a big match gets scheduled on the Center court, you'll be able to go inside and watch the match.

Between the matches I recommend taking a stroll around the outside courts. Of all the Grand Slams I found the Australian Open to be incredibly easy to navigate. With your reserved seat inside of Rod Laver Arena or the Maragret Court Arena you have access to all the annex courts located throughout Melbourne Park.
