About the Ski Jumping Competition at the 2010 Olympics -

Ski jumping has been contested at every Winter Games. It is one of only two winter sports that restrict the participation of women. (Nordic Combined, which incorporates ski jumping, is the other.) However, there are efforts being made to add a women's competition in time for the 2010 Games.

There are currently three Ski Jumping events on the 2010 Olympic program:

Normal Hill (K95), Large Hill (K125), Team (K125)

Venue: All of the events will be contested at the Whistler Olympic Park, the same venue used for Cross Country Skiing, Biathlon and Nordic Combined. Venue capacity will be 12,000. The venue features stable winds and a wooded setting, optimal for ski jumping. The ski jumping venue used for the 2006 Games, Pragelato, had three training hills (K15, K30, K60) for beginning jumpers. Whistler will also have one temporary snow bump.

About The 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver Canada:

The 2010 Games Winter Games marks the first time in eight years that the Winter Games are returning to North America. The majority of games will be played around Vancouver British Columbia, with events taking place in Ski Resort Community of Whistler, the Callaghan Valley, West Vancouver and at venues located on the campus of the University of British Columbia. This will be the third time the Games have been hosted by the country of Canada . In 1776 the Summer Gamess of Montreal, the 1988 Winter Gamess and now the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver.

From a loyal eSeats.com Customer!

I am not really sure what to say.  In my attempts to find tickets for the 2008 Beijing Gamess, I came across problem after problem until I found at eseats.com.  Not only was their inventory up to date and with a good price, but there brokers were always available to help me through the process.  Sometimes it can be nice to talk to a real person which eseats.com definitely provides.  Thanks a lot.

eSeats.com to my rescue!

6 months prior to the 2008 Summer games in Beijing I made my first Games ticket purchase, which ended up being from a fraud company. Soon afterwards I made a second purchase and that company notified me that they could not service the order just 2 weeks before my departure. With just a week before leaving for Beijing I found eseats.com who immediately confirmed an order for half my requested tickets. The owner of eseats.com personally made a call to his vendors to find tickets that were not listed on his site to attempt to fulfill my past order through the other companies. Thank you to eseats.com for the prompt confirmation, friendly service and for going the extra mile to take care of its customers.

Jolanta - PlanetTravel.com

Here is my real story which took place with my China Gamess tickets.  I ordered and paid for $60K worth of tickets via a competitors website and received nothing. Since I paid with my Amex I have since dispute the charges and filed a complaint with the government. I also sent an e-mail to the LA Times reporter: greg.johnson@latimes.com.

As to eSeats.com? I spoke directly to Bob Berstein (the owner) and he is the one who got me replacement tickets. FYI... the company is legit... in business for 18 years and has a great reputation.  If you ever have questions about his service, feel free to speak with me.

If you shall need tix, Bob at eSeats.com is the man.

Good luck to all

History of the Gamess
The first official Games Winter Games was appropriately held in Athens Greece in 1896, as was the last event in 2004. The inaugural games featured 241 participants from 14 nations, while the most recent contest involved 11,100 competitors from 202 countries. The original games can be traced back to Olympia, Greece in 8th century B.C. The most popular legend is that Heracles, son of Zeus and Alcmene, created the Games games and built the Games stadium and surrounding buildings as a tribute to his father. Since a medal count has been recorded, the United States garnered the most gold medals with 35, followed by China with 32 and Russia with 27. Beijing was elected host city of the 2010 Winter games on July 13, 2001. The city that will carry the torch to host the 2014 games has yet to be determined.
