 Based in Oakland California,the Oakland Raiders is a professional football team that competes in the Western Division of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL).Although they began play in the AFL in 1960,they only joined the NFL in 1970. Since joining the NFL, the Raiders have won twelve division titles and three Super Bowls (XI, XV, XVIII), and have appeared in two other Super Bowls. Thirteen players have been honored in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.The team colors are black and silver . The Oakland Raiders don't have a mascot. The pirate is just the symbol, but it's not the mascot and it does not have a name. |

 The Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum is the home of the Oakland Raiders and is located Oakland California.It has had several names over the years from Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum (1966-1998, 2008-Present), Network Associates Coliseum (1998-2004) and McAfee Coliseum (2004-2008).Now,it is commonly known as The Oakland Coliseum, or simply The Coliseum.Apart from football the stadium also hosts soccer and baseball.In 2009 it will co-host the Gold Cup. The Coliseum is part of the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum complex, which consists of the stadium and neighboring Oracle Arena.The stadium was opened in 1962 and its playing surface is Kentucky Bluegrass. For football games its capacity is 63026.
