In the Beginning
The story of eSeats.com goes back to 1978 when my hard working dad decided it was time to teach my twin brother Mike and I the ticket trade. We learned the business in the streets buying and selling tickets to events around Phoenix, Arizona. By working hundreds of events over many years we learned the fundamentals of the ticket trade and how to take care of our good clients. In 1987 my brother and I were foreign exchange students in France and had the opportunity to apply what we learned at Roland Garros. We discovered how languages and learning the local customs was an important way for us to gain a competitive advantage and better serve our customers. Our interest in major international events continues today.
After graduating from Arizona State University with a BA in French and then MBAs from the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird '91), Mike and I went in different directions. Mike started Championship Tennis Tours while I went to work for a high tech publishing company based in Hong Kong. After a few years in Paris, Brussels and Tel Aviv, I returned to the USA and landed a sales job with UbiSoft in San Francisco. It wasn't till 2000 that I returned back to Arizona in time to join the burgeoning online ticket revolution taking place. We had the good fortune to cross paths with the founders of TicketsNow (now owned by Ticketmaster) who made eSeats.com one of their first ticket resale sites. Thanks to many helpful hands and very smart designers and programmers, eSeats.com continues to succeed in fulfilling our mission while blazing new trails in the never boring online ticket space.
